They had chosen a polyester fabric and no matter what they did with this fabric, it’d never hang straight. Not only that, she’d chosen to go with a panels onto a two story window to save money, which looked very strange
Did a poor job of guiding her into making the right option, and they just wanted to market the job, so they gave. There are a lot of factors and the beauty of the fabric is not the factor.
There are software that are different obviously – if you are installing draperies in a living room, you may want something structured, or within a casual area. It takes knowledge and an expert eye of cloth properties to help you make the choice that is right for fabric for your custom drapery. I am a believer that is huge, and most of my clients love this, that even if a thing may push you over budget a bit, it’s good to explore it. I know personally I would rather know all of my choices so that I can make an educated choice.
The main point is that the cloth kind is extremely important to the way the drapery will look, not to mention cloth choice affects the cost. Fabric is the biggest piece of this price breakdown for custom draperies. There’s also the style chosen, labor, hardware and setup.
The workroom should have directed the customer to possibly a polyester/cotton blend or a mix. The content of linen and this cotton will help the manmade polyester fibers hang
A quality drapery fabric starts at around $50 per yard retail and can go up from there.
