Green Carpets Cleaning

Drapery Cleaning in La Conchita — Cleaning the draperies into your house can prolong their life and free your house of unwanted dust, dirt, pet hair and allergens.
Weekly Maintenance
Remove dust from your drapes with your vacuum. Most vacuums have a soft brush attachment that’s perfect for the drapes. Set the brush attachment on the end of the hose and then brush in an up and down movement across the fabric. A handheld vacuum also works well for this particular undertaking.
Washing the Drapes
IMPORTANT: CHECK THE TAGS Before attempting to wash your draperies. Some draperies should BE CLEANED PROFESSIONALLY. NEVER wash them if:
They aren’t specifically labeled as washable (when they’re lined, be sure BOTH the drapery fabric and the liner are listed as machine washable).
The cloth is broken, frayed or disappeared (i.e. by sun )

Other vases or trim Aren’t recorded as color-fast

Take heed of the label and follow these steps In case your draperies are machine washable:
Carefully remove the curtains from the sticks (it’s best to have someone help you with this as you will most likely require a step stool or small ladder to get to the sticks ). NEVER tug or pull the draperies to get them down as this might harm the sticks, the fabric or the walls.
The draperies are hung with pins or hooks if remove and set them aside.
Hand wash each panel in cool water and a gentle detergent such as Woolite. For drapes that are large, it may be much easier to use the bathtub rather than the sink.
The drapes can be put in your washer to the GENTLE cycle, with warm or cold water, as indicated on the tag. Elect for cold if the tag does not indicate a temperature setting. Use a mild detergent without bleach. In case your draperies are large or bulky, consider carrying them into a laundromat or doing the panels one at some time where you are able to use oversized washers.
Place the drapes in a dryer on the setting indicated on the tag (probably low heat). If no dryer setting is signaled, place “no heat” (fluff) setting. Be careful to not overload the dryer.
Look at doing one panel at one time or taking them to a laundromat with dryers that are oversized. The most common cause of harm to draperies through the cleaning method is warmth; when in doubt (especially if having a commercial dryer not familiar to you), use the”no heat” setting. Suggestion: If you’re lucky enough to possess an old fashioned clothesline, instead of the dryer, hang your draperies outside to dry on the clothesline. You won’t need to be concerned about overheating, and the drapes will have a odor that is fresh that is natural. To keep fabric from fading, avoid hanging in sun.
Eliminate draperies from your dryer promptly if desired, and press. Again, assess for settings in your label. Use a cool iron if no indication is given. To prevent damage, use the iron only.
Replace the pins hooks (if any) and re-hang that the draperies on the sticks. Again, it is ideal to do so with another person assisting.
