The Way to Spot Clean Old or Set-In Upholstery Stains
By this point I am reasonably certain that the majority of responsible furniture owners understand that spills and stains on upholstery ought to be cleaned immediately, with all due haste. Next, wash the sponge and then apply just water to blot out some of the soap mix. Press dry with a cloth or paper towels. If your furniture can’t be cleaned with water, then consider using vinegar or vodka on a cloth. If the place is dry the odor of the the vodka will disappear.
Rinse and Repeat
If your blot has survived this cleaning process, you’re dealing with a single stain. As exhausting–and possibly irritating–as the process can be, doing it can provide you the result you’re looking for. Before the stains came out, the previously mentioned wine on white chairs situation took two passes. Perseverance paid off and the spots vanished, although I really thought when I entered Stage 2 that there was no way these spots went everywhere!
