Dry the piece immediately by opening the windows and moving the air in the room with fans. Don’t use a hair drier or anything that would apply heat to the area. The fabric wants to wash at the same rate.
With one of these methods, be certain to test an inconspicuous place first (like under a cushion, or on the back side of this skirt) to make sure colors won’t fade or bleed.
