A New Look in Your Living Room

I’ve been itching to make some changes to the living room’s furnishings ever since spring arrived. Our living room is the most comfortable spot in the house, ideal for relaxing, reading, and watching TV. With the change in seasons, I decided to freshen up a few things in the living room, and I thought it could be useful to share my recommendations with you.

SHIFTING TO NEW TEXTILES
Changing out the sofa cushions is a simple way to make a big difference in the look and feel of your living room. Buying brand-new pillows on a regular basis is wasteful, as they take up valuable storage space. You can easily keep things looking good by ordering new pillowcases and switching them out every few months or so. I switched up my fall bedding’s lighter pillowcases for the white, blue, and pink ones I keep on hand all year round.

We have a family room at home, and I like to make it cozy and homey for my husband and our two kids. As someone who is easily chilled, we keep a plethora of blankets and pillows on hand. Fabrics can be used to create a feeling of depth and coziness. One of the fundamental ways we keep the feeling that it is warm and inviting is by having carpet and rugs on the floor. My husband’s go-to method of de-stressing at the end of a long day at work is to put his tired feet up on the carpet. I know. I can’t believe this freak exists.

Carpet, contrary to popular belief, acts as a storage facility for allergies. The dust that accumulates on it will be easily vacuumed by your appliance. Since we have three young children and we are all affected by seasonal allergies, it is crucial that we enhance indoor air quality. For people with respiratory conditions like asthma and allergies, a carpeted floor can make a world of difference.

The National Institutes of Health’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s most recent asthma and allergy guidelines do not recommend removing carpets as a treatment option for asthma and allergies.

Is it just me, or do the new pillows bring an instant burst of springtime energy to the room? You can see that I’ve added a splash of color by throwing a beautiful blanket over the back of the sofa. You are capable of similar action.

Comfort is increased by adding a rug on top of anything. Rugs not only serve as an anchor for your furniture but also help to set the mood and create a more intimate atmosphere. The neutral tones of our carpeting make it suitable for usage in all four seasons. Pairing a carpet with a rug not only helps muffle sounds but also provides extra padding for your feet.

embellish the mantel and coffee table
One easy approach to refresh your home for Spring is to switch up the decorations on your mantel. I did this by decorating the room with artwork, antique frames, and fake plants.

INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF ACTIVE GREEN SPACE
Having real plants around is the best way to make a room look nice. Since we have so many live plants in our home, everyone gets to share in the joy of caring for them. Even if you don’t have a green thumb, you can try growing a pothos or a snake plant. They are low-maintenance and surprisingly challenging to get rid of once established in your landscape.

Not only do plants make a space more visually appealing and comfortable, but they also enhance the air we breathe. I can’t possibly do any decorating without these!
